So, with a spare hour or two this afternoon, my thoughts turned to which players may be in contention for Supporters player of the season - so far. Every one of the players has pitched in well this season , even those who regularly sit on the bench. Field likes to be up front but contributes more when out wide, Ben always works his socks off wherever he's played. Melford's got some great touches but needs more confidence and Jones' set pieces are excellent. Of the relative newcomers, Hairy adds bite to a defensive midfield and Halford's pacey runs down the wing have led to many chances and goals.
Jack Wood continues to improve and is deserving of the captaincy, but if I had to vote now , I'd have to learn how to spell Achep.........Acep........Joey's name quite quickly!

I always think to myself "Who would I least like to see missing from the team?"  This season (and last) the name that always comes straight to mind is Woody.  That boy is consistently outstanding, wherever he is asked to play and is playng way below his level  - and long may that continue! Wink

I didn't really see it last season (when he was played largely at right back until King's arrival), but couldn't agree more that Woody is surely the first name on the team sheet this season. Just ridiculously good at centre back, and proof if it were ever needed that you don't need to be a giant bruiser type to excel in that position.

It's still Lord Edgeworth of Edworthshire for me.
