 loading... United made it through to the 2nd qualifying round for the first time since 1975 by strolling to a comfortable win at Turnfurlong Lane. Although Burnham (runners up in the Athenian League for the previous 2 seasons) showed plenty of endeavour, The Ducks had the edge in class. The opening goal came in the 38th minute when Gary Harthill was brought down in the area by Taylor and Davy Jones calmly fired home the penalty. United then took control and the second goal came in the 52nd minute when Jones' corner was desperately cleared only as far as Dave O'Reilly who fired a great half volley just inside the far post. |
