Shepshed Charterhouse included young midfielder Jeff Lissaman in their team for this visit to Aylesbury in this Southern League Midland Division fixture. Lissaman was later to go on to play for the Ducks. United gave a debut to Gordon Kelly, a new signing from Rushden, and both sides put on an entertaining show in front of a 225 crowd. Neither side were able to break the deadlock in the first half, but with three minutes remaining Paul Hackett popped up to score and give United a 1-0 victory to put them eighth in the table. |
