After recording their 7th straight win in all competitions with a 3-1 win away to Yeading in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round on the Saturday, The Ducks took their total unbeaten run to 19 games with this emphatic win at Wymers Wood Road that saw Trevor Gould's side clinch their place in the 2nd round of the Southern League Cup with 2 group games still to play.

The visitors opened their account in just the 3rd minute when Cliff Campbell produced a delightful dribble round 2 men before clipping in a cross which drew Burnham keeper Trevor Bunting and left Cliff Hercules with a simple tap in for his 18th goal of the season.

It was 2-0 in the 14th minute when Dave Botterill let rip an awkward skidding shot which Bunting could only parry and Hercules beat Dave Mudge to the rebound to poke the ball home.

It was 3-0 when Gary Harthill and Campbell combined on the left for Harthill to cross and Hercules got in ahead of Mudge to head past Bunting to complete his first hat-trick for the club.

It was 4-0 in the 87th minute when a long ball into the box was only headed out by Burnham defender Colin Ferguson to Hercules' feet and he made no mistake for his 21st of the season and became the first Ducks player to hit 4 goals in a game since John Davie hit 4 in a 6-0 Bill Dellow Cup 1st Round group game away to Banbury United in September 1984.
