After recording their 3rd straight league win (and their 4th in all competitions) with a 1-0 away win at Shepshed Charterhouse the previous Saturday, Trevor Gould's side took their total unbeaten run to 5 games with this latest win at a wet and windy Buckingham Road.

United took the lead in the 7th minute when Gary Harthill collected the ball from near the halfway line, turned away from his marker Warren Shepherd and set off on a run past a series of challenges towards the edge of the box before unleashing a sweet left footed drive which flew over VS keeper Gavin McArthur and crashed off the underside of the bar and into the net for a stupendous goal which lit up Buckingham Road on a dreary day.

The hosts wrapped things up in the the 83rd minute when Cliff Hercules got inside Steve Potter on the left and slipped the ball inside to Cliff Campbell who clinically sidefooted past McArthur from 7 yards for his 21st goal of the season.
