The return fixture with Enfield in 1994/95 was an even more exciting affair than the first, with the two sides sitting in third and fith places in the League, with all to play for.

The visitors started the ball rolling with a goal midway through the first period. Paul Hobson fired his side ahead from the penalty spot before Paul Hobbs levelled things a minute before the break.

Straight after the interval Pat Ryan thundered home a volley but Enfield only held the lead for three minutes as Paul Hobbs again fired home to equalise.

Hobbs was an unassuming midfielder who'd joined United from Berkhamsted Town. He was a strong tackler who always chipped in with his fair share of goals, netting sixteen times in his season and a half at Buckingham Road.

Chances went begging at either end before the referee Mr Jordan decided to get in on the action. Bob Dowie was dismissed for a second bookable offence, and Enfield were harshly awarded a penalty with less than five minutes remaining. Paul Hobson scored and the points looked to be heading back to Middlesex.

Mr Jordan had other ideas though and deep in injury time Dean Williams was clumsily bundled over in the area and United won the third penalty of the match. Allan Pluckrose stepped up and confidently blasted the kick home.
