Going into this game with Dulwich Hamlet United still had an outside chance of promotion. Third placed in the Isthmian Premier League, they were nine points behind Enfield and six behind Hayes with a game in hand. Dulwich on the other hand were just below midtable and had little to play for.

Aylesbury's away form had been poor all season and ultimately cost them any realistic chance of the title. This would prove to be their tenth defeat in seventeen away fixtures compared to just one at home.

The game started in frenetic style as Paul Whitmarsh and Lee Akers gave the home side a two goal lead before United woke up.

The Ducks then got into the groove and hit back through an Allan Pluckrose penalty and a close range tap in from Dean Williams just before the break.

The Ducks then went back to sleep as Whitmarsh put his side back in front and a late Willie Lillington effort gave Dulwich an unassailable lead and the three points.

Cliff Hercules did add a third Aylesbury goal in injury time, but it was no more than a consolation.
