After the high of the win over Yeading, the Ducks were brought back to earth by a hard working Uxbridge side. Aylesbury were unable to settle against opposition who harried and hustled them off their normal game, and who seemed to dominate the midfield with considerable ease.

After a quiet first quarter of an hour with few chances for either side, Uxbridge began to take control and eventually scored after 22 minutes when a low cross from the right by Tunnell found Bamford in acres of space in the area, who then side footed it to Clark to score with a crisp drive from ten yards out.

Aylesbury's best chance to score came late in the first half when, following a half-cleared corner, shots from both Joe and Maynard were blocked by defenders before Gallagher finally got a clean striker, only to see it go the wrong side of the post.

Uxbridge continued to create many more chances than United throughout the second half and were possibly unlucky to only score once more.

The goal came after 53 minutes when Bamford headed home at the far post from a free kick by Clarke.

All in all, a very disappointing performance against a team struggling in the bottom half of the table.
