The Ducks picked up their first points of the season in this entertaining clash with local rivals and fellow promotion contenders Thame United.

Aylesbury led 1-0 at the half time break following Roni Joe's strike on 27 minutes which saw him coolly poke the ball past Alan Foster in the Thame goal following good work from both Ollie Stanbridge and Dwight Marshall.

Thame were not without their chances though. Mark West headed wide from a Wayne Cort cross on 4 minutes. West had a further chance to score when he latched onto Scott Bennett's poor backpass but fortunately Adam Wheeler came rushing off his line to save superbly.

In the second half Dwight Marshall forced a superb save from Foster before Adam Wheeler was called into action again, this time tipping away Cort's powerful shot.

The victory was secured on 75 minutes when impressive debutant Frank McCormack swung in a superb cross from the left which was acrobatically met by Steve Clark and his powerful header secured the Ducks first victory in four games against their near neighbours.
