Aylesbury made the long journey to Malvern Town for the second meeting between the sides this season. Jon Franklin kept faith with the team that beat Berkhamsted, though Richard Pringle returned from suspension in place of Luke Melisi.

The visitors started on top, Daniel Mead getting forward to fire wide in the first minute. Captain Enzo Silvestri then mis-hit a shot which sat up for Pringle to half-volley just over the bar.

After their bright start, the Ducks then suffered a blow when Nick Leach was forced off with an injury, to be replaced by Carl Kavanagh.

Mead's low cross was turned goalwards by Silvestri, who couldn't get clean contact on the ball, as Aylesbury looked to resume attacking their hosts. A quick throw from the right was crossed in by Nathan Liburd set up the next chance, Pringle acrobatically volleying for goal and calling Malvern's goalkeeper into a good save.

Five minutes later Silvestri drew another save from the goalkeeper, after being played in by Perna his early shot was gathered in.

Pringle threatened again when he got in ahead of the goalkeeper onto Kevin Mealor's ball, but his lobbed effort was cleared away by the recovering defender.

A rare first half effort from Malvern saw Tom Vincent having to claim a driven low free-kick.

Enzo Silvestri won a corner when heading the ball from a near-post free-kick, and from the set play Pringle had another headed effort cleared off the line as Malvern held on.

The breakthrough finally came just before the interval. Leon Gutzmore was given too much time to take the ball down and fire for goal, and his effort was blocked illegally by a defender, penalty awarded for handball. Gutzmore confidently stroked the ball home. 1-0 Aylesbury

Malvern's captain was shown a second yellow card for his part in the incident, leaving his side to face the rest of the match a goal down and with 10-men.

United had another effort cleared off the line from a Perna corner, before the referee brought an end to a first half dominated by the visitors.

Half-time: Malvern 0-1 Aylesbury

The second half began with Malvern on top, certainly not showing their numerical disadvantage. Their midfielder broke forward and had a strong shot from distance gathered in by Vincent at the second attempt.

They went close again ten minutes later when the dangerous Findlay went on a run and went for goal from 20-yards, his effort deflected wide for a corner.

Pringle maybe should have done better when he got on the end of Liam Smyth's corner unattended, but only guided his header over the crossbar.

Malvern then began to assert strong pressure on the Aylesbury goal, their stand-in captain firing well over having brought the ball a long way forward. Number 6 dragged an effort wide after not being closed down, and Tom Vincent had to head clear to avert danger, with a follow-up ambitiously shooting from 40-yards with the goal vacant, but hitting the effort over.

Findlay was looking the most likely, and after he hit a shot which curled away from goal it was no surprise when he equalised for his side in the last ten minutes. Although not underserved, the effort took a cruel deflection to loop over the stranded Vincent. 1-1

Aylesbury had one final effort to score again, but Pringle's effort was saved after he had been played in behind the defence.

The Ducks miserable second half was complete three minutes from time when Findlay broke free down the left, and from a seemingly impossible angle managed to beat Vincent at the near post. 2-1 Malvern

United had self-destructed with a second half performance as rotten as the weather, and Malvern celebrated their first home win of the season as if they'd won the league.
