Wycombe Wanderers 3 Aylesbury 2

Monday 02 May 2005 - 12:00 am | Added by: Admin to Club News, First Team | Two comments |

The Ducks were edged out by Wycombe Wanderers in a closely fought Berks & Bucks Cup Final, with the Chairboys winning 3-2.

Aylesbury more than matched their League Two opponents in the first half, and created the better chances, but couldn't find the net.

Wycombe went on to score twice in the second half. But then Drew Roberts brought Aylesbury back into the game, to make it 2-1 with an excellent lob.

Then followed a bizarre incident in which Wycombe scored from a restart after an injury, with the Greens sportingly allowed to score their own after the misunderstanding.

At 3-2 United continued to fight, but an equaliser just couldn't be found and the Trophy belonged to Wycombe, their twenty-sixth Berks & Bucks Championship.
