Amalgamation Statement

Tuesday 13 June 2006 - 12:00 am | Added by: Admin to First Team, Club News | One comment |

Following recent speculation surrounding the club's future, the club wishes to clarify a few points.

At this time we are only ground sharing with Aylesbury Vale Football Club, and as previously stated we are grateful for their generous offer of support. Both clubs will continue in their current format for a minimum of 2 years.

As previously stated though, we have found that both clubs share a common goal - in wanting to create a community club for all the people of Aylesbury.

With this in mind we believe that an amalgamation of our two clubs is the best way forward for us all.

With our combined efforts and that of Aylesbury Vale District Council, who are fully behind our plans, we believe that in time, we can create a blue print to finally deliver league football to the town, played in a new purpose built stadium.

Aylesbury as a town is expanding and the population is growing rapidly, a town of this size should have a decent sports stadium and a football team to be proud of, this is what both clubs collectively are working towards achieving.

We believe the amalgamation will be a natural progression, over a period of time, and one that both parties are happy with.

Groundforce Weekend Postponed

Monday 12 June 2006 - 12:00 am | Added by: Admin to Club News, First Team | One comment |

Following a meeting today with Aylesbury Vale District Council, attended by Graham Read and John Newman, it has been decided to postpone the proposed ground force weekend.

This is merely a deferment, as the club need to satisfy the environment agency that any ground improvements will not impact on the surrounding area, as the Haywood Way ground is situated on a flood plane.

We also need to ensure that the correct planning procedures are followed, and that any concerns the local residents have are dealt with in a satisfactory manner.

The club is fully committed to ground share with Aylesbury Vale Football Club, and Aylesbury Vale District Council is fully supportive in our quest to upgrade the ground in time for the coming season.

As the delay will now take us past the deadline, set by the Southern League we have had to seek a further (match by match) ground share agreement with another club, that has the appropriate stadium grading.

This agreement will allow us to fulfil our home fixtures from the start of the season, whatever happens in the coming weeks.

The Club wishes to thank all the many individuals, organisations and companies that have offered their services, we will let you know asap when a new date has been set for the work to proceed.
