Aylesbury United manager Paul Curtis, just back from a short holiday, gave a brief interview to Alistair MacLaren earlier today:

Q/ Just a brief comment on the pre-season friendly matches played since we last spoke.

A/ V Wycombe Wanderers 11. Good performance.
V Watford 11. The team that we played were just too good for us on the day.
V Abingdon United. Decent performance.
V Leighton Town. First half not too good but much better in the second half. In fact we played pretty well for about 40 mins, decent for about 15 mins, and awful for about 30 mins.

Q/ Following the pre season games have you any injury worries ahead of tomorrows opening match at Halesowen?

A/ Greg Williams has a knee problem.
John Winter has a back problem.
Jay Gould has a hamstring problem.

Hopefully none of the injuries are too serious. Jack Rashid is back from his holiday and appears to be fit following his shoulder injury.

Q/ What is your squad for the new season?

A/ As follows:

Tom Alabaster, Neil Champelovier, Meshach Cole, Dean Cracknell, Paul Edgeworth, Jay Gould, Danny Gray, Leon Gutzmore, Matt Hayward, Paul Lamb, Daniel Mead, Dean Powles, Jack Rashid, Stuart Smeathers, Ryan Wiffin, Greg Williams, John Winter, Jason Burnham, Kai Ridley.

In addition to those named Peter Smith is also in the squad as our second choice goalkeeper, Andy Partlow is also signed as the third choice goalkeeper. In addition some more reserve players will be added to the squad.

Danny Gray has had a bit of a problem with a groin injury so has not had as much of a work out in the pre season as needed. Because of this he may be playing for Haywoods United tomorrow on loan, he is currently on a non contract basis. Jason Burnham is away for the game tomorrow.
