Danny Nicholls once more gives his thoughts following last week's narrow defeat to Cirencester:

What were your thoughts on Saturday?s performance against Cirencester?

In the first half we started very slowly, looked very nervous and rode our luck. Cirencester were not a good side and we looked very poor. In the second half we had a 10 minutes spell of madness, which allowed Cirencester to score their two goals, we looked as though we were asleep in the dressing room. It took us some time to adapt to the long ball game played by Cirencester, quite often they played past their midfield. We did play well for the last 20 minuets and Dean Powles did score a smashing goal for us.

The referee was shocking, the Cirencester numbers 2 and 8 should have been sent off for some of the things that they did. Cirencester could have been given 2 penalties in the first have.

I would like to add that I thought that the support was superb, the fans were getting behind the team.

How did we perform in the three areas of the pitch?

At the back we were not really good enough, Matty was ok, as a result of the injury to Paul Lamb Stuart Smeathers was back on the pitch at right back. We were too deep in midfield. Kofi Sintim and Dean Cracknell who played up front in each half of the game took quite a lot of knocks. Colin Baker, who came on for the second half, looked very lively.

How did you rate Kofi Sintim?s first start for Aylesbury United?

He found it very hard against such a physical side, he received quite a bad cut above his eye, butterfly stitches were needed, he also may have suffered slight concussion.

Paul Lamb went off injured, how serious is the injury, and will he be fit for the FA Trophy game at Solihull?

He went off with a suspected broken toe, it has since been confirmed that there is no break but it is badly bruised. His chances of playing on Saturday are 50/50.

Are there any other injury worries ahead of this Saturday?s game?

Kofi should be fit to play by Saturday, if selected. Jay Gould is fit, but needs some match play, so will play in the reserves this week. Kai Ridley is also now available, and Leon Gutzmore will soon be back in the squad.

What do you think of the quality of the teams in this league, some of the results so far seem very mixed?

I don?t think that there are many good teams in this league, but there are a number of very physical sides.

What are your feelings about the FA Trophy, do you think that we could get a good run as we did 2 years ago?

I like to think so, I will do my best. I really would love the club to have a good run in the FA Trophy as that is something that really puts the club on the map, mind you Aylesbury United are a very well known side anyway.

Is there any news about the manager situation at the club?

They are starting to interview people but I do not know who.

Have you any news about the two players that you were hoping to sign when we spoke last week? One of them was rumoured to be Gavin Jaggard.

I put a seven day approach on 2 players. One is not going any further, the other, who is Gavin Jaggard, will be spoken to tomorrow (Tuesday), that is the 7th day, another club are also speaking to him.

As I said before I am looking for some other players and will be watching a game tomorrow (Tuesday) night, so I will not be involved with the training session.

It has also been suggested that you have approached Josh Sozzo. Is there any truth in this?

No that is not correct. Although Josh is a good friend of mine I have made no approach for him.
