Aylesbury United News Story

Grantham Town 2 Aylesbury 0

A lack of ruthlessness in the final third cost Aylesbury dear this afternoon as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Grantham Town.

Things could have been very different if United had built on their excellent early start, and Leon Gutzmore's penalty not missed the target.

As it was, an uninspiring Grantham side were instead allowed to grow in stature, and they scored twice in ten first half minutes, both goals from Jason Turner.

It meant Aylesbury needed a miracle to claim any kind of result, and although there were again positives to be taken from the game, a comeback never truly seemed on the cards.
