United made their third trip to Twerton Park of the season, and were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Bath City.

Although it was another defeat, the team's fourth consecutive, a battling performance will give manager Neil Trebble cause for optimism.

Bath opened the scoring through livewire Scott Partridge, but Leon Gutzmore soon levelled to leave things even at half-time.

Tony Bird scored twice for Bath, the first a wondergoal, but United showed good character to pull a goal back a minute later, Gutzmore's second of the night.

A dramatic comeback sadly didn't materialise as the visitors ran out of steam, although the fact that City were happy to play the ball into the corners for the last five minutes tells its own story.
