Aylesbury United News Story

Not Even the Wind Gets the Ducks Flying Again

Aylesbury put up a battling display in atrocious conditions at Arlesey Town but ultimately were ended up on the losing side again.

The gale force winds combined with downpours meant it was always going to be a tough afternoon for both sides.

The Ducks had the wind in their favour for the first half but couldn't put it to good use and eventually fell behind when ex-United player Chris Marsh netted.

The lead lasted just two minutes when Ashley Harewood hit a thunderbolt shot to send the teams in level at the break.

Within a killer ten minutes the game was all over for Aylesbury. Marsh got away down the left and centred for Nathan Frater to sweep into the net.

Minutes later Arlesey scored a carbon copy, and even though they had to play the last quarter with ten men after Zema Abbey's dismissal, the game was out of Aylesbury's reach.

To compound United's misery, Arlesey added a fourth with the last kick of the match to make the final score 4-1.
