Aylesbury College completed their BCS League fixtures with a 1-1 draw against Central Bedfordshire College at Edinburgh Playing Fields on Wednesday.

The opening exchanges were even, both sides managed to get in some good positions but lacked a little composure in front of goal. Central Bedfordshire took the lead midway through the half, a cross from the right found the unmarked striker in the penalty area who turned the ball home right footed. Aylesbury's response was impressive and they were level within 10 minutes. Liam Fludgate collecting the ball near the right hand corner of the area and firing in a low angled drive that gave the Goalkeeper no chance.

The second half was equally competitive, with a prety even share of possession from both sides. Central Bedfordshire hit the crossbar amongst several good chances that they created, and Aylesbury worked the Goalkeeper several times and missed good chances of their own at the other end.

The final whistle sounded on the match and on Aylesbury College's League fixtures for the season. It has been a solid effort from coach Taran Ashall and the squad in their first season, finishing just behind Central Bedfordshire on account of goal difference. Aylesbury College will now go into a set of friendlies to finish the season, including the exciting prospect of a local derby with Mandeville Sports College.
