The tournament was a perfect opportunity for the players to get used to playing the type of opposition they will come up against in the league this season.

Results wise out of the six games against Downley Dynamos 1&2, Naphill A&B and Holmer Green A&B, they came away with 1 win, 1 draw and 4. loses.  Those results do not however reflect the skill ability, team work and effort put in by our players.  All the fixtures were low scoring, showing the teams were quite fairly matched and a couple we lost were against the run of play.

I was very happy with their performances and pleased to see an improvement in their awareness of the game as the tournament progressed.  In the last two matches played although shortened to save time, they were still full of some very good play by our players.  One goal coming out of several passes not seen in the other under 7 tournament games I watched.

As there were no winners or losers in the under 7 and under 8 age groups, it was nice to see happy faces all round when medals were handed out at the end by the Wycombe Wanderers mascot.

Thank you to all those who participated and also for the parents support, with special mention to Ryan's Dad Shaun who has stepped into the shoes of my assistant and is proving to be invaluable to me.
