Ducks Bow Out To Staines

Two goals in the last two minutes made for a very flattering scoreline as United exited the FA Cup 3-0 at the hands of Staines Town

The Ducks, without the spine of their team through unavailability and suspension, gave their absolute all to the cause in a tenacious display as the sides went in level 0-0 at the interval.

Staines had been poor in the first half, and with the words of manager Marcus Gayle no doubt ringing in their ears finally established the control of a side two levels above when Louie Theophanous shot home on 55 minutes.

Aylesbury continued to battle and Joey Acheampong wasted a glorious chance, and with the minutes ticking by a late corner saw Jack Sillitoe in the offensive penalty area trying to salvage a draw.

Staines took full advantage of the Ducks pushing forward with two goals in the last two minutes making it 3-0, and for anyone looking at the scores a comfortable looking away win.

That simply wasn't the case though, and Aylesbury can take great credit for a performance that pushed the Skrill South side all the way.
