Jason Blackett's 26th minute goal was enough to separate Aylesbury and Leighton at Bell Close in a 1-0 Ducks win.

The Leighton/Aylesbury derby is historically a match which delivers little excitement and few goals, and a game of limited chances didn't change that.

If United's performance at Potters Bar was their best of the season, then this was the worst and the deciding goal was something of a gift.

Sam Chapman hit a weak backpass, which Blackett got to just ahead of substitute keeper Sam Leggett to poke the ball into the net.

The game's other major talking point occurred with just eight minutes gone, when Matt Griggs took exception to Richard Armstrong's late aerial challenge on him and was dismissed for punching the United man in the face.

The numerical advantage rarely showed, and by the end the Ducks were hanging on to their slender lead nervously and had Jack Sillitoe for a late save which did at least preserve their precious three points.
