Aylesbury United News Story
Aylesbury's hopes of a cup final for the second year running were dashed by old rivals Chesham United, who beat the Ducks 3-1 in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup semi final at a sodden Bell Close.
Injuries, suspensions and player unavailability meant Aylesbury could barely name a fit eleven, whilst the Generals squad was formed almost entirely of youth and reserve team players.
A poor first half was badly affected by the atrocious conditions caused by steady, heavy rain, as the visitors edged ahead just past the half hour mark when Tashan Dwyer produced a superb finish to get his memorable senior debut up and running.
After the break Aylesbury did at least create a number of chances, but were hit by two 'sucker punch' counter attacking goals in the space of two minutes - Dwyer scoring again before Bobby Devyne nodded home the third - and it was game over with Chesham holding a 3-0 lead.
It took until stoppage time before the the hosts finally troubled the scoresheet when Joey Acheampong netted after a goalmouth scramble to make the final score 1-3.
