All Square in 'Game of Two Halves'

The proverbial 'game of two halves' ended all square at Bell Close, as Aylesbury United and landlords Leighton Town drew 1-1.

After the ecstasy of a late winner at the weekend, tables were turned as the Ducks conceded an 87th minute equaliser - Gareth Chendlik hooking home to deservedly draw his side level.

Aylesbury had the better of a poor quality first half, and had taken the lead with the best moment of quality as Steve Hatch struck a belting 25-yard shot to score after just nine minutes.

The second period was an entirely different affair, and for a spell it was Leighton vs Jack Sillitoe as the Ducks stopper performed heroics to keep his side ahead.

Having weathered the storm, the sides were then evenly matched for the remainder, but plucky Leighton refused to give up and their late leveller allowed them to leave the pitch celebrating a vital point in their quest for survival.
