A goal in each half gained Aylesbury a hard fought, much needed three points againsst ten men Daventry Town with a 2-0 win.

A scrappy first period saw no team with a clear dominance, but it was the Ducks who edged ahead on the stroke of the interval when Jason Blackett set up Paul Edgworth to fire a low shot home.

The second half was a similar story, but any hopes of Daventry comeback were seriously dented by the dismissal of veteran Howard Forinton just past the hour mark.

Aylesbury scored their second to put the game to bed on 75 minutes, Shaun Owens netting at the second attempt from a searching Jake Bewley cross.

The visitors had plenty of decent openings throughout the match, yet home goalkeeper Jack Sillitoe didn't have a save to make by the end, and United were able to celebrate their precious three points.
