Our U8/9/10 girls had their second festival at Meadowcroft on Saturday morning

The girls were up against City Belles, Crendon Corinthinans and Chalfont.

First match
We started with Grace in goal, Courtney and Rosalina in defence, Sophie H, Paige and Katie in midfield and Sophie B upfront. We started off well with both teams creating chances but unfortunately found ourselves 2-0 down after about 7 minutes. The girls never gave up though and goals from Sophie H (2) and Katie meant we ran out 3-2 winners in a game that could have gone either way.

Second match
Another tough really even match that could have gone either way. We lined up with Rosalina in goal, Sophie H and Paige in defence, Sophie B, Katie and Courtney in midfield with Grace upfront. Some resolute defending from Katie kept it at 0-0 and at the other end Grace and Sophie B both went close. With a few minutes to go Courtney broke through and squared it for Sophie B to slot home a late winner.

Third match
Was much closer than the 5-0 scoreline suggested. We welcomed Keelie back for this match and she slotted straight into defence and contributed to another clean sheet. Katie started in goal, Grace and Keelie in defence, Rosalina, Sophie H and Paige in midfield and Courtney upfront. Sophie B started on the bench but we rotated the team every few minutes to give everyone as much football as possible. Sophie H scored 2 goals, Sophie B also scored a brace before Katie's long goal kick beat everyone and flew in.

All 8 girls were excellent throughout and all 3 games were played in a competitive but friendly spirit. A couple of opposition managers / parents commented to us about how well our girls conducted themselves which was a massive complement to them all. We are hoping to get a couple of friendly games in either side of Christmas to continue our development.

Interested in joining the team?
We have 8 really commited girls now which is great and they are all developing into great little footballers. We could really do with more players though so if you know any girls interested in football who are currently in Year 2, 3, 4 or 5 at school then please either email James - - or feel free to turn up at our training sessions, which are every Tuesday from 5-6pm in the sports hall at Mandeville Secondary School
