With nearest rivals Bedworth United and Aylesbury FC both seeing their matches postponed, league leaders Kettering Town were able to extend their lead at the top of Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central after today's matches.

The Poppies took on struggling AFC Hayes, who have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes of late, and the points and a 2-1 win weren't secured until the 82nd minute, when Elliot Sandy scored from the spot. Ryan Debattista had earlier equalised for AFC Hayes - his sixth goal in five games for the club.

Rugby Town bounced back from their home defeat to Aylesbury United, but had to come from behind to win 3-1 at Leighton Town after Danny Watson's 25th minute opener.

After three losses without so much as a goal scored, Royston Town returned to form as they stormed to a 3-0 lead after just 24 minutes at home to Daventry Town with Stuart Bridges scoring twice, and although Dave Parkinson pulled back an early second half goal it was enough for the Crows to win 3-1.

Biggest winners of the day were Godalming Town, who scored two goals in each half, either side of a solitary Lewis Putman effort, as they won 4-1 against Aylesbury United, to make it five games unbeaten and three straight wins in the league. Darren Wheeler scored twice for the Gs.

A basement battle saw North Greenford United take on Beaconsfield SYCOB at Berkeley Fields, with all the goals coming in the last ten minutes as Victor Osobu (80 and 88) and Aaron Berry (90+2) gave SYCOB a 3-0 win and moved them nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Last weekend North Greenford were beaten 4-0 by St Ives Town, and the Cambridgeshire side followed that up with a 3-1 win at Potters Bar Town this weekend as they edged closer towards the top half of the table.

Elsewhere, Chalfont St. Peter went a seventh league game without a win as they drew 0-0 at home to Northwood, who themselves made it five matches unbeaten.

Three matches were postponed: Aylesbury FC vs Egham Town, Barton Rovers vs Marlow and Uxbridge vs Bedford Town.
