Tokarczyk The Hero In Spotkick Win

For not the first time in his career, Alex Tokarczyk was the penalty hero as Aylesbury dumped Premier Division Redditch United out of the Red Insure Cup.

With a gritty, determined defensive display, a patched up Ducks side stopped the rot of four straight defeats in the process, as they held their high flying hosts to a 1-1 draw.

Despite Redditch's dominance, Aylesbury held out until the 43rd minute when Luke Shearer coolly slotted home.

Many would have expected the floodgates to open, but substitute Jake Bewley hit a wonderstrike to draw the teams level just past the hour mark.

United continued to defend heroically, whilst Redditch wasted a host of chances, even after Aylesbury were reduced to ten men for a second yellow card shown to John Mulholland.

After the game went straight to penalties, Tokarczyk saved two and then stepped up to score the winner and give his side a 4-3 win.
