Football Development in Association with Tring Corinthians

Following a very successful season for both our Under 21’s and Under 18’s, Aylesbury United, decided to invest in an Under 25’s Development side.

This initiative was driven by Greg Smith from the U21’s and Scott Philbey from the U18’s and supported by the first team Manager and Coaches along with Adey White - Chairman of the Juniors. The philosophy was to give an opportunity of football development and progression for not only “our” youngsters but all local young talent with the ambition to play at our level and even higher.

Sadly finding a suitable venue proved impossible despite the hard work of all concerned. The initiative seemed doomed until we were contacted by Gary Mendham of Tring Corinthians, who was aware of our intentions, and offered to help.

Discussions with Gary soon proved that our philosophy on football development was the same. So it was agreed that we could work together under the banner of Tring Corinthians, using their excellent facilities at Icknield Way, Tring and play in Division 2 of the Spartan South Midland League.

A management team of Greg Smith, Scott Philby and Trevor Jellis was appointed to run the team; training/ coaching will be at Mandeville School, Ellen Road, Aylesbury on Thursdays from 6 to 7.30pm starting on 7th September, until then training is at Bierton Recreation Ground on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.15pm.  Any players who may want to come along please contact us through the Aylesbury United FC website or just turn up and introduce yourself!

Tring Corinthians begin their league campaign this Saturday 5th August with a tough home game against Old Bradwell United. Our club website will shortly carry fixtures/results/tables.
