Ducks Come From Behind Again

Aylesbury came from a goal behind to win 3-1 at fellow Step 4 side Northwood with goals from Harry Jones, Jamie Keen and an Aaron Berry penalty.

Northwood, who were league adversaries of the Ducks until this summer's reorganisation saw them moved to the Bostik Isthmian League, started strongest and were ahead on eight minutes when a ball over the defence gave former QPR striker Ben Pattie the chance for a well-taken goal.

It took just a minute for Aylesbury to draw level though Harry Jones' fourth goal of preseason. Greg Williams' superb ball found Aaron Berry who hung up a cross for Jones to bullet header into the net.

That was how things remained at the interval after a couple of chances had gone Berry's way, including one late on which was well saved by the legs of the goalkeeper.

Two minutes after the restart and United were ahead, Jamie Keen profiting from a set up by Kerran Lataille to find the net from close range.

As the second period reached the midway point, Aylesbury had a third - Callum Mapley taken down in the box and Berry stepping up to confidently dispatch the resulting penalty.

Archie Davis - continuing to deputise for the injured Jack Hopwood in goal - made a hat-trick of good saves to prevent the hosts finding a way back into the game, whilst substitute Maciej Tajs was denied by a similarly impressive stop as the game ended 3-1 to Aylesbury.
