Vote now! Ducks need your support to grow girls’ football

Aylesbury United Ladies & Girls FC are asking people to vote for their bid to win a £1,000 grant to inspire more girls to play football.

Aylesbury United Ladies & Girls FC have entered the Aviva Community Fund competition, which offers funding to community projects. The club have submitted a bid for £1,000 and the 400 projects with the most votes will be awarded funding. If successful, the club will use the grant to pay for coaching qualifications, training facilities and new equipment.

The club’s goal is to provide football to as many girls and ladies as possible, regardless of background or ability. As the interest in female football has grown, so too has the club, which now has over 120 players across the different age groups, from U9s to Ladies. The club are looking for funding to increase the number of girls playing football and expand the services that the club offers. To do this, the club needs to ensure that coaches and other volunteers are appropriately qualified, as well as provide access to suitable training facilities and equipment.

“Our club is run entirely by volunteers, who are dedicated to growing grassroots football and helping players realise their personal and sporting potential,” said Club Chair, Debs Hewes. “We are dependent on fundraising and sponsorship to keep our membership fees affordable and would appreciate your vote.”

Voting is now open and closes on the 20th November. To find out more and cast your vote, visit:
