That'll Do Berry Nicely

Strikers Aaron Berry and Tre Mitford both scored their 9th goals of the season - the former with a wonder strike - as the Ducks completed the double over Yaxley FC and claimed their first win since New Year's Day.

The two sides came into the game level on points, but the Ducks put in a dominant performance and took the lead after 21 minutes courtesy of a top corner rocket from Berry.

The lead was then doubled by his partner up front Mitford just before the hour mark to put United firmly in control.

As is often the case though, Aylesbury seemed intent to make life difficult for themselves as they conceded an 87th minute goal to setup a more difficult than necessary ending to the match, but in the end held on for an important three points.

Stalemate in Welwyn

Saturday 19 January 2019 - 11:48 pm | Added by: Admin to Club News, First Team | | Used tags: ,

Having no draws in any of their first 18 league games of the season, Aylesbury have now drawn 3 of their last 5 following a 0-0 stalemate at Welwyn Garden City.

Against a hastily reassembled side following a tumultuous week for the hosts, the Ducks missed a number of chances - most notably when Ollie Hogg hit a penalty kick against the post in the second half.

Another Four As Didcot Double the Ducks

Sunday 13 January 2019 - 12:17 am | Added by: Admin to Club News, First Team | |

For the second time this season, Aylesbury were on the receiving end of four goals from Didcot Town as the Ducks were beaten 4-1 at The Meadow.

An explosive start to the game saw the Ducks fall behind after just 4 minutes, only for Max Hercules to level six minutes afterwards with a stunning goal.

That was as bright as United's afternoon was to get though, and two goals in the next 4 minutes made it 3-1 after 14 minutes, before a fourth goal arrived before half time - which was how it finished at the end.

Weekend Preview from Ben

Friday 11 January 2019 - 2:38 pm | Added by: Admin to Club News, First Team | | Used tags:

Manager Ben Williams gives us his thoughts ahead of this weekend's home fixture with Didcot Town:

This week we welcome a strong Didcot team who are clearly aiming for promotion through the playoffs, I believe they have strengthened since they beat us 4-0 earlier in the season so it will be a great test for us.

Squad news: we welcome Ben Seaton back into the squad following injury plus we will be hoping to increase Sonny French's fitness following a long layoff, but Horatio Hirst misses out again through illness.

Benji Aghadiuno has returned to parent club Barnet following the end of his loan and we thank him for his efforts whilst with us, he certainly gave us a much needed lift when joining initially and we wish him well for the future.
