Aylesbury Reserves 0 Crawley Town Reserves 0
30Aug2003
The Reserve team continued their good start to the season with an excellent 0-0 draw at home to Crawley Town. Considering that the side had to play without seven regulars, the result indicated just what progress is being made.
Braintree 2 Aylesbury 0
29Aug2003
The Ducks crashed to their third succesive defeat, with a truly awful display away to Braintree Town. Despite a promising start in which Aylesbury kept the ball well enough, there was no cutting edge to their play, and the defence once more looked suspect.
Braintree took the lead just before the break, and added another mid-way through the second half. The Ducks had no answer, and lacked any sort of conviction in the second half.
Thame Reserves 0 Aylesbury Reserves 3
28Aug2003
The Reserves racked up their first away win of the season, with a comfortable display against local rivals Thame United. Predictably the goals came from Ryan Wiffin and two from Lewis Pritchard.
Aylesbury 0 Hornchurch 2
24Aug2003
The Ducks sufferred a 2nd consecutive defeat, at home to George Borg's Hornchurch, although they were once again unlucky in the manner of it. A good first half for the home side ended goalless, and Honchurch were no doubt given a 'talking to' by George Borg. Whatever, they were dominant in the second half, and scored two goals. This was a game of few chances, and Hornchurch scored with two of their three efforts on target. And yet again Chris Boothe will feel his defence could have dealt better with the threat.
Aylesbury Reserves 1 Sutton Reserves 3
23Aug2003
The Ducks were beaten in their 2nd match in the Suburban Premier Division, with Sutton United the visitors to Buckingham Road. Despite a half-time lead through Rob Duncan, Sutton were dominant and scored three goals in the second half to take maximum points.
Bedford 4 Aylesbury 1
22Aug2003
Bedford Town hit the Ducks for four for two seasons in a row, with a scoreline that flattered the home side. A poor defensive performance by both sides resulted in a number of chances, but it was Bedford who had the better of times in front of goal.
Bedford capitalised on a number of individual errors to punish Aylesbury, but really didn't create all that much of their own. The Ducks produced a decent enough performance in the middle of the park and up front, but once more lacked a cutting edge going forwards.
Aylesbury Reserves 3 Northwood Reserves 1
20Aug2003
The Reserve Team made an impressive start to life in the Suburban League Premier Division, with a 3-1 win over Northwood at Buckingham Road last night.
A first half goal from Danny Gray, and two late strikes from John Winter and an impressive triallist wrapped up the game for the Ducks.
Northwood 1 Aylesbury 1
19Aug2003
The Ducks travelled to Northwood's Chesnut Avenue ground, and battled hard for a 1-1 draw. Aylesbury took the lead through new signing Dean Canoville, and had a fair few other chances. However, Northwood refused to lie down and created all sorts of problems for the Ducks rearguard. They eventually equalised, and will feel that they could and should have taken all three points after failing to convert a number of chances.

Ready Signs
14Aug2003
With the season set to kick-off in just over 24 hours, Aylesbury United have been boosted by the news that centre-back Karl Ready has put pen to paper and signed for the club. Ready is a hugely experienced defender, who spent 10 years with QPR, and played for Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League, before becoming an important member of Aldershot's Championship Winning team last season.
