Bath City 2 Aylesbury 0
30th April 2005
Aylesbury United's league campaign came to an end with a 2-0 defeat at Bath City.
The promotion chasing side dominated the first half, and two quick goals from Scott Partridge and Bobby Ford gave them a two-goal cushion at the interval.
Partridge went on to miss a penalty in the second half, but the result was not enough as the home side just missed out on a play-off spot.

Youngsters Lift League Cup!
29th April 2005
The Sunday Youth side are celebrating tonight after winning the South Bucks Youth League Cup, to round off their successful season - beating Totteridge 2-1.
The Ducks controlled the match for large periods, and could have gone into the break four or five goals ahead.
After Frankie Ross hit the post early on, Byron Goodman gave Aylesbury the lead, turning in Aston Goss' corner.
Stephen Lane made it two, after Goss' volleyed effort had been well saved by Totteridge's goalkeeper.
Further chances went untaken before the interval, including a spectacular strike from Lane that rebounded off the post from distance.
Totteridge clawed a goal back midway through the second half, but couldn't lift themselves enough to claim an equaliser, and it was Aylesbury who won the Trophy.

1st prize ?100: 428
2nd prize ?50: 244
Aylesbury 1 Hednesford Town 4
23rd April 2005
Any hopes of Aylesbury reaching the play-offs were well and truly put to bed as the Ducks spectacurlarly collapsed at home to Hednesford Town.
The first half hour was promising though, and Drew Roberts gave the Ducks the lead, although it may have been an own goal.
It mattered little - as United conceded sloppy goals to allow Hednesford to go into the break 2-1 up.
They netted two further goals in the second period, to leave Aylesbury just happy to get to the full time whistle as soon as possible.

New Era Supply Cup Final Coach
22nd April 2005
New Era will once again be generously donating their luxury coach to Aylesbury United's cause.
During pre-season Peter Lee, the MD of New Era promised use of the coach, if we were drawn away in a big cup game, and he has obliged for the second time this season.
The team last used the coach to travel to Forest Green Rovers, but will now also be travelling in style to Wycombe Wanderers for the Berks & Bucks Cup Final.
Cracknell Not Returning
20th April 2005
Apologies for the somewhat premature news story from earlier this week regarding the re-signing of Bishop's Stortford midfielder Dean Cracknell.
Although it was thought a deal had been finalised, this is not the case and Dean will be staying with his current club at least until the end of the season.
Danny Nicholls is still in negotiations though, with regards to signing Cracknell for next season.

Kings Lynn 1 Aylesbury 0
16th April 2005
A free-kick goal from Mark Angel was enough to decide a close game, and inflict another setback on Aylesbury's play-off aspirations.
The game was closely run, although the home side fashioned the better chances, and only due to wasteful finishing and saves from Jack Rashid the game was goalless at the interval.
Angel's kick changed that though, and with United struggling Lynn held on for a win which condemns Aylesbury to 8th position in the League.

Aylesbury 3 Chippenham Town 2
9th April 2005
Aylesbury kept up their play-off push with an impressive win over League leaders Chippenham Town, but two late goals from the visitors made the game far less comfortable for United.
By half-time the Ducks were two goals up, courtesy of good moves finished off by Greg Williams and Gavin Jaggard.
Daniel French made it three with one of the season's best goals, but Chippenham fought back and Gary Thorne scored two headers to peg Aylesbury back going into stoppage time.
But the result went the way of the home side to ensure the Ducks stay well placed in the play-off zone.

Aylesbury 2 Chesham United 1
5th April 2005
Aylesbury United, reduced to 10 men following Matt Hayward's second half dimisall, dug deep to complete a treble of 2-1 wins over Chesham United.
Paul Lamb had given the Ducks a dream start scoring on the end of a great move early on, but John Lawford's strike had them penned back by the interval.
The second half began with a tide of Chesham pressure, but the home side held firm, and after the sending off Liam Folds gave Aylesbury the lead.
The win sets up a Final tie with Wycombe Wanderers at the Causeway Stadium, believed to be on 2nd May but this is to be confirmed due to a possible clash with the Southern League play-offs.

Cirencester 3 Aylesbury United 0
2nd April 2005
Aylesbury United were made to pay for their defensive uncertainty this afternoon, beaten 3-0 by Cirencester Town.
The Centurions had the game wrapped up in 20 minutes, deservedly opening up a three-goal cushion as they tore the Ducks apart with an ease that will concern manager Danny Nicholls.
Viveash and Griffin were the scorers, the second netting a brace, as United struggled all afternoon.
It seemed nothing would go Aylesbury's way, and Drew Roberts even managed to hit the bar with a late penalty to ensure the Ducks went home disappointed.
However, results once again went the way of Aylesbury, meaning they remain in fifth spot for the time being - as the play-off race grows ever closer.
Full report from Cirencester to follow.
