Danny Nicholls Extends Stay
30Mar2005
Further to the story in today's Bucks Herald with regards to the 'Boss Nicholls pledges future to Aylesbury'.
The Board can now confirm that Danny will be signing a two year contract in the next few days. Also a number of the current first team squad will be offered contracts for next season within the coming weeks.
Initial talks took place with Danny a few weeks ago, Both Danny and the Board were keen to secure his services for the next two years. Whilst giving his post match interview with Damien Lucas, (Bucks Herald Sports Reporter), Danny had asked if he could release details so as to squash the recent rumours of his departure.
We have worked hard in securing the deals with minimal financial exposure to the club. We believe this is another step forward in building the solid foundations required to take this club back to where it should rightly be.
The board, along with every true Aylesbury supporter, should back us in making these decisions which will take us on to the next chapter in the future of our great club.
We wish Danny and the team every success in the final run in - 'Promotion to the Conference South' (hopefully not north!) - and meeting Wycombe in the final of the B & B Senior Cup.
Finally we must apologise for not letting you know first, but the Bucks Herald loves exclusives, and we don't like giving away anything, without nothing in return!
Thank-you to the supporters, our sponsors, and everyone involved at the club, for your continued support.

Stefano Leone Collection Update
30Mar2005
Just a quick thank you to everyone who contributed to the collection for Stefano Leone at Monday's game vs Bedford.
We raised ?342 that day, so thank you to all the supporters who put some money in. As some of you know, Stef works (or did until his injury), so this money will go some way to helping him.
I will also be holding a collection at our next youth team game, so I will give you a final figure when that has taken place.
Once again many thanks
Franco

Reserve Game Cancelled
30Mar2005
Tonight's Reserve Team match at Hertford Town has been cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.
Aylesbury 1 Bedford Town 1
28Mar2005
Aylesbury United drew their first match at Buckingham Road this season in an entertaining 1-1 battle with Bedford Town.
The Ducks should have taken all three points though, as they controlled much of the game against a Bedford side that seemed to lack confidence.
Drew Roberts netted his tenth goal for the club against his old employers in the first half.
The second half was a display of attacking prowess from Aylesbury but on every occasion they lacked the killer touch to find a goal.
Bedford continued to push for an equaliser which eventually came late on from a Stuart Wardley freekick to break Aylesbury's hearts.

Bedford the Bank Holiday Entertainment
28Mar2005
Forget craft fairs, forget fairground rides, forget gardening - the only place you need to be is at Buckingham Road this afternoon as Aylesbury United take on Bedford Town.
It's all to play for, with the winner taking the 3rd spot already occupied by Bedford in the Southern League Premier Division.
Danny Nicholls' only injury concern is Daniel Mead, although he's expected to return to give the Ducks a full squad to choose from, with Drew Roberts looking for this 10th goal in 15 games, against his old club.
Bedford have been struggling of late, their last three games have been 0-0 draws. Strikers Paul Fewings and Chris Dillon have returned from injury though to aid their cause, as they look to get their promotion bid back on track.
With the weather in the Vale looking good, why not bring someone new to the game today? Who knows, we could be on course for our third 1000+ attendance of the season.
Please also look out for the bucket collection at today's game. This is in aid of Youth Team player Stefano Leone who badly broke his leg recently playing against Burnham. All contributions will be greatly appreciated.
Aylesbury Ladies 2 Carterton Rangers 2
28Mar2005
The Ladies Team made it three games unbeaten as they dug deep to draw 2-2 at home with Carterton Rangers.
Sarah Davis marked her return to the starting eleven with the opening goal early on - hitting a cross/shot that dropped in at the far post.
After a host of chances hadn't been converted by the Ducks, Carterton started the second half camped in Aylesbury's half and quickly took a 2-1 lead.
But Aylesbury gritted their teeth and fought back with Sally Green netting from close range towards the end to ensure the points were shared.
Chesham United 1 Aylesbury 2
26Mar2005
Aylesbury United came from behind to win the Buckinghamshire derby match against Chesham United.
Just after the half hour mark Leon Callender scored to mute the vociferous Aylesbury support and give the home side the lead.
It was a lead that lasted less than ten minutes though, as Gavin Jaggard converted for the Ducks.
As ever, Aylesbury came out fired up for the second half and it wasn't long before Drew Roberts scored a deserved second, and what turned out to be the winner for the Ducks.

Stefano Leone Bucket Collection
24Mar2005
The club will be holding a bucket collection at the game on Easter Monday for Stefano Leone the Youth Team player who badly broke his leg in the recent game against Burnham.
Stef is self employed and will not be able to work for at least 3 months. It is hoped this may help to offset loss of earnings caused by the injury.
If you see Frank and some of the Youth Team players at Monday's game, please drop into the bucket any lose change or anything that you feel comfortable with giving to us, it would be great if we could raise some money for a smashing young lad, who has got hurt playing for the club that we all support.
Re. Richie Carter (Reserve Team Manager)
24Mar2005
Due to a large number of posting's on the club's unofficial messageboard we now feel the need to make a statement regarding rumours surrounding our Reserve Team Manager.
The below statement is from Richie Carter himself:
"I can categorically say that the rumours are untrue and have no foundation, I left Berkhamsted Town as I had an offer of 1st Team Assistant at Tring Town and this was too good an opportunity to turn down. I have also changed my name since leaving Berkhamsted for Personal Reasons alone.
I think that my commitment doesnt deserve such abuse and that I give up alot of my time to travel to and from my Norwich home for training and games.
I hope this can put an end to all speculation and questions."
