Aylesbury 2 Northwood 0

27th September 2005

Aylesbury finally progressed in the FA Cup thanks to Gavin Jaggard's second half brace of goals sealing a 2-0 win.

Northwood stubbornly refused to be pushed aside, and kept United at bay with their determination, despite the home side creating the better chances.

Jaggard netted his first six minutes into the second half, just reward for another excellent display leading the line. He grabbed a second to eventually kill off any lingering cup hopes from the Woods late on.

The Ducks will now take on Wroxham away on the 8th October in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

Tiverton Game Postponed

24th September 2005

Due to Tiverton Town's progress in the FA Cup this afternoon, the scheduled fixture at Buckingham Road on the 8th October has been postponed.

A re-arranged date will be advised in due course, along with a date for the Cheshunt game originally to be played this Tuesday.

Tivvy beat Highworth United 7-1 away to go through. Lets hope United can join them in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

Northwood 0 Aylesbury 0

24th September 2005

A replay will be required to decide this FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying Tie after today's pulsating match at Chesnut Avenue somehow ended goal-less.

Aylesbury dominated throughout, creating a string of chances, and only some saves and a bit of luck from Northwood stopped them advancing.

Northwood did have chances of their own, ex-Duck Darren Grieves missing the pick right at the death, but a home win would have been daylight robbery by definition.

The result means that Northwood will visit Buckingham Road on Tuesday night, with the scheduled match against Cheshunt to be arranged for a date to be advised.

Grantham Town

Aylesbury 0 Grantham Town 2

17th September 2005

Aylesbury's poor league form continued with a home defeat at the hands of Grantham Town.

Slow out of the blocks again, United were a goal down in 45 seconds when Steve Evans stole in to head home.

And the story got little better, Aylesbury seeing plenty of the ball but unable to create a goalscoring chance.

Grantham added a second to put the game beyond the home side's reach on the hour mark when Martin Carruthers headed home.

10th September 2005

Paul Edgeworth opened the scoring in the first half, but Spencer pushed the Ducks all the way and equalised after the restart. It took a goal from substitute Scott McCafferty, his first for the club, to eventually win the tie and restore natural order.

The result means Aylesbury can now look forward to the draw for the 2nd Qualifying Round which will take place on Monday.

Evesham United

Evesham United 2 Aylesbury 0

3rd September 2005

Aylesbury crashed to their second successive defeat, beaten 2-0 at Evesham United's Common Road.

Although a marked improvement on Tuesday night's showing, United conceded another early goal and struggled after that point.

Despite seeing plenty of the ball, ideas were in short supply, and chances hard to come by. Evesham then scored a second after the break to put the game out of reach.

United's miserable afternoon was compounded late on when Matt Hayward was sent off for an altercation with an opponent at a throw in.
