Bury Town's continued progress in the FA Cup means that our home match with them on 10th October has now been postponed.

The Ram Meadow side overcame Matlock Town 2-0 after extra time to set up a home tie with Bedford Town in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

A new date for the game will be advised in due course.

Aylesbury United Ladies won 3-2 at Oxford United to keep up their winning start to the new season.

The team put in a great performance in stifling conditions, with the defence superb throughout and expertly marshalled by player of the match Leanne Walker.

Goalscorers were Suzie Cole with a brace, and Trina Freeman.

Two goals in the last ten minutes saw Aylesbury come from a goal down to beat Windsor & Eton in the Red Insure Cup.

The result should be a big confidence boost for the Ducks, who were in danger of forgetting what it felt like to score, let alone win, after their dismal recent run.

Both sides put out mixed lineups, and Aylesbury dominated the first half, going on to hit the woodwork three times before the interval.

Windsor improved after the break and duly took the lead through David Pearce with twenty minutes remaining.

Aylesbury looked flat and it looked like finishing another disappointing scoreless defeat, until Shiblu Miah equalised with his first goal for the club.

With the match heading for extra time Daddy Moses then popped up to smash home the winner and set up a home tie with AFC Hayes in the next round.

Aylesbury were dealt a resounding 5-0 beating at Bromsgrove Rovers this afternoon.

Whilst once again the result doesn't tell the whole story, the home side deserved it as Aylesbury's defence were unable to cope all afternoon.

It was two for the home side inside twenty minutes and although United rallied late in the half it was too little too late.

After the break the Ducks still looked a threat going forward, hitting the post and forcing the keeper into a save.

Had they pulled a goal back there might have been a sniff of a comeback, but it didn't happen and three further goals meant sent Rovers home happy.

Aylesbury United's trip to Romulus later this month has been cancelled due the Roms' continued involvement in the FA Cup.

As it stands the Ducks will now have a free weekend. A new date for the trip to the Midlands will be advised in due course.

Aylesbury United were knocked out of the FA Cup by Potters Bar Town with two second-half goals.

In the torrential downpours it wasn't just the weather making for a miserable evening, as the Ducks fell short in a bitterly disappointing second half.

The first half had been an even contest with both sides having chances despite the challenging conditions, although it was the home side who went closest when they smashed a shot against the crossbar.

But after the break the home side took the lead on the hour mark with a badly defended goal.

It spurred the Ducks on to their best spell of the game but they couldn't make the most of their pressure and succumbed to a goal on the counter-attack which spelled curtains for another Cup campaign.

Aylesbury United Ladies got their league campaign underway with a club record 13-0 win.

Against a newly assembled Ascot Ladies side, the Ducks scored in the first minute and never looked back with a steady flow of goals from that point.

Gemma Franklin was the star of the afternoon with a five-goal haul, but it was a great all-round team performance which will be a huge confidence boost.

The other goals were scored by Sarah Cole (2), Leigh Reed (2), Kay Norton, Suzie Cole and Sarah Flight.

A Tuesday night replay will be required to separate Aylesbury and Potters Bar after the two sides shared a goalless stalemate at Bell Close.

A first clean sheet of the season will be pleasing from United's point of view, but Aylesbury will feel they should have won it late on.

After an evenly shared first half it was the Ducks who had the better chances after the break, Chris Dean, Dean Thomas and Daddy Moses all going close.

As it was, there was no breakthrough and the teams will have to do it all again in three days time, but at least both will feature in the draw for the next round come Monday lunchtime.

Aylesbury United lost out in another seven-goal game, this time going down 5-2 at home to Rothwell Town.

This was the first time the Ducks have been genuinely outclassed this season and they struggled to break down a well organised Bones side who showed just why they've yet to lose a league match this season.

Yet again the curse of the early goal struck, Aylesbury going behind inside the first ten minutes, but they battled back when Ashleigh James' well taken goal brought them level.

In truth they were somewhat fortuitous to escape to the interval on level terms, and so began the second half onslaught with Rothwell eventually increasing their tally to 4-1.

Dean Thomas pulled a late goal back from the spot, but it was scant consolation and even more so when the visitors added an even later fifth.

It was a frustrating evening for the team who will now hope for better fortunes when their attentions turn to the FA Cup and the visit of Potters Bar Town on Saturday.

Aylesbury United play their first home midweek game tonight with the visit of Rothwell Town.

The game at Bell Close was originally scheduled for the first week of the season, but had to be cancelled due to floodlight problems.

Aylesbury will be hoping to build on their positive display against Atherstone and finally record their first league points of the season.

Kick off at Bell Close is at 7.45pm.

Aylesbury United Ladies won their first friendly of the new season on Sunday.

Goals from Gemma Franklin (2), Suzie Cole (2) and Kay Norton gave them a 5-3 win over Chiltern Saints.

A crushing last minute goal meant Aylesbury once again finished a league game empty handed as they were edged out by Atherstone Town 4-3

The Ducks had needed all of their attacking flair to battle back from an two-goal deficit handed to their hosts early on, and had gone on to take the lead in the second half before eventually falling to defeat.

After early defensive frailties reared their head once again, the visitors took full advantage of their rare attacks and went into a two-goal lead.

But a debut goal from Ryan Bernard and a belter from Dean Thomas, also his first for the club, levelled proceedings by half-time.

Things seemed to be going even better when Chris Dean gave them the lead with a perfectly dispatched free-kick.

But as the minutes wore on United lost their stronghold on the game, and Atherstone soon equalised and it had looked set to end a point a piece.

The visitors had other ideas and dealt a crushing blow to Aylesbury's spirits with a goal in the final minute, to leave the team looking crestfallen at full time.

Aylesbury United have added another three new faces to their squad going into Saturday's match with Atherstone Town.

The first new player is 28-year old ABDUL YOKI, an attacking midfielder or forward who finished last season at Byron Walton's Bracknell Town. An experienced player, he has previously played for the likes of Edgware, Harrow, Hemel Hempstead, Barton and Northwood.

Secondly, right-sided player IBRAHIM KWEGYIR joins having previously been at Biggleswade Town. He was formerly a youngster with MK Dons, and has also had short spells with Stevenage, Berkhamsted, Northwood and Staines.

The final new addition is RYAN BERNARD, a defender who was with Hemel Hempstead Town last season. The 27-year old began his career with Bury, before moving on to Cheshunt, Ramsgate, Hastings United, Walton & Hersham, Dulwich Hamlet and then Hemel.

We welcome all three to the club.

Aylesbury United will face Potters Bar Town in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

The Ryman League Division One North side overcame Cockfosters in their Preliminary Round Replay this evening with a convincing 4-1 win.

The tie will take place on Saturday 12th September at Bell Close, kick-off at 3pm.
