I read the message board on occasions although I try to stay away from it in truth, but I do read with interest at times people posting and asking why certain things have been done or indeed not done. I am always willing to listen to people and answer questions after games or through the web site where I will hopefully be able to answer the points raised.
To answer a few questions, it was posted as to why we went so light particularly on the bench to the Woodford game, well I can tell you Luke Melisi was ill, one player pulled out the night before due to work commitments, one pulled out at 16.15 on the day and another did not turn up. All of these players have been dealt with internally by myself and I regard the issue closed, what I will say is I cannot at the last minute pull players in, neither should I be in a position to have to do so.
The postings reference Nando Perna and non payment are totally untrue all players have and will be paid to date, Nando is still part of our squad and in his current situation I will decide whether he is involved on a game to game basis and if he plays elsewhere it is with my blessing.
Sometimes there are issues that are between the player and manager and will not become common knowledge.
Youth players have been watched and two have been signed with one making his debut last Monday and then travelling to Billericay with the first team.
Moving on to the playing side of things, again although there has been a slight improvement we collectively are still not happy. Game after game we show good potential to compete and potentially beat most teams and then all to often we end up stumbling.
Saturday was a classic example of this although Billericay dominated most of the game we proved capable of competing with teams in the higher leagues however having taken a 2-0 lead we never looked comfortable and I guess it was only time before they scored which they did twice! This is down to confidence and we will work on that.
Some would say we were lucky to get a draw out of it well I think quite the opposite we deserved it and indeed could have won in the last minute like they could have won comfortably had they have taken there chances which they did not, that's football!!
This now obviously sets up a home replay at Bell Close on Monday following the postponement this Monday gone.
This cup game did not allow me to play Danny Brown as Basingstoke did not want him cup tied as he is currently with us for only a month although I have an option to extend that. He (Brownie) will come back into the fold for this Saturdays game at home.
I have this week completed the signing of Nick Leach from Beaconsfield SYCOB again he will go into the squad for this Saturdays game, unfortunately Leachy is cup tied so will not be able to play in the replay Monday night as Beaconsfield played in the first round of the trophy.
I talked previously about a pro player well we are still involved with this and hope player and professional club can come to an agreement to release him.
I have another seven day in for a player at Berkhamsted and I hope to complete his signing next week.
We as a club have recently had two approaches from a premier club for two different players ourselves, I can tell you one has decided to stay and the other indicated the same but will speak to me next week.
Gary Schillachi has had work commitments and will do over the next few weeks so his involvement will be limited.
Ben Stevens is still on the mend and we are unsure how long it is going to take although he participated in light training on Monday night, not such good news for Brett Court who will have to undergo an operation in the near future on his ligament.
I trust this updates a few things and it only leaves me to thank you for your support and ask that you spread the word to support our home game this Saturday at Leighton and in particular our replay on Monday night.

Monday night I thought we were there having taken a 2-0 lead to the currently unbeaten Evesham. How wrong I was, and a ten minute lapse of concentration and an element of naivety saw two goals conceded, giving us only a point in a game that I thought we deserved and should have had the full three points from.
The teams we are playing seem to be content with playing the long ball game as was the case with Evesham. This is not pretty football and certainly not what I subscribe to, however if this is what we are going to be up against week in week out we are going to have to learn to deal with it and play against that style of football, we do not have to revert to that type of football ourselves as our goals on Monday proved that a flowing, passing game can be played, only we have to deal better with the long ball game the opposition choose to play.
The league is remaining fairly tight and we are after all only seven games into the league season therefore with a few results behind us we will be up in the pack again.
On the player front tomorrow's game will see the return of Kevin Mealor who put a good strong training session in on Thursday and afterwards was declared fit, although obviously he will take time to get up to match speed. I am personally delighted as Kevin was my first signing and both he and I have been frustrated with his non involvement following his pre-season injury.
Ben Stevens continues to make slow but steady progress. Justin Gordon remains unfit following his ankle injury at Barton Rovers. Danny Mead is struggling with a dead leg after Monday night but the decision will be left to the last minute with him.
Sam Page as many of you know was recalled by MK Dons I was keen to re sign him unfortunately he has gone out on loan to Hendon now as Martin Allen believed the higher standard would benefit him more!
I have today finalised a loan deal for a player from Basingstoke (Conference South) who will join us from next week for a month. I have a further 7 day approach in for one player and we are currently awaiting the release of a player from his professional contract and when that happens he will sign for Aylesbury.
Andy Shed is back at university and at the moment is not involved with us, Craig Henney has gone to Holmer Green for a few weeks to get some games under his belt and I will monitor his progress there.
Finally, Sam Swonnell unfortunately has departed due to work promotion and commitments however we will retain his registration in the hope he returns to the area.

The FA cup defeat hurts from a financial point for the club but more so with a defeat from a team at a lower step than ourselves, that said they are now sitting top of their league undefeated so all in all a good outfit.
Saturday saw us make the journey to Sutton Coldfield where we lost 2-0 more disappointing was the way in which we lost. We were out muscled in every challenge, they as a team were much stronger and more determined than ourselves. In ninety minutes we did not have a shot on target, this mystifies me as pre season and early league games we were scoring and creating many chances and generally the team has stayed the same so this would point to a slight dip in confidence.
I will not single out any player publicly but certain players know individually they have to improve two fold if they are to retain there place in the team.
This week break has allowed us to have two good, hard training sessions, it will also allow myself and the three alongside me to watch a few games Saturday and next Tuesday as we have earmarked a couple of players who we feel could do a good job for us.
It is important to understand that when we decide to go for a player the process can often take a week plus and as confident as I am in having a couple of additions by the next league game ultimately it is the player?s decision as to whether they want to come or not.
I can tell you three players have been spoken to and I will again talk to them this week.
An update on the players within the squad is that you are all probably aware after two games Gary Schillachi has joined us having transferred from Hemel Hempstead.
Kieron Murphy has returned to MK Dons after his month loan and due to injury that will see him out of action for a month at least we have opted not to extend the loan.
Ben Stevens is making steady progress but we are still unsure how long he will be out for, Kevin Mealor is the player I would like to see back sooner than later but I am being told it is still a couple of weeks away and then we have to get him match fit.
Sam Swonnell will be back for the next match and Brett Court and Matt Butler we are awaiting there suspension dates following the straight red and two yellows respectively.
