1000 Not Out For Ducks

12Mar
2009

Aylesbury United's thumping of Marlow brought about their 1000th Southern League goal.

With his 68th minute strike, Nathan Graham became the man to gain the distinction of reaching the milestone figure for the club.

Aylesbury's first Southern League goal was scored by Chris Wilkins 33 years ago in 1976, when he netted just before half-time against Metropolitan Police.

Since that time United spent 16 seasons out of the Southern League, initially by famously winning promotion to the Football Conference, before a spell in the Isthmian League.

They were switched back to the Southern League in 2004 and have added 280 further goals.

A full feature will shortly follow charting the details of another notable achievement in the grand history of Aylesbury United Football Club.
