The Curtis Interview

Alistair MacLaren has been in touch with Paul Curtis following the last two matches:

What were your thoughts on the Stamford game?

Stamford came with a gameplan, which they stuck to well, but we were not very good on the day.

I did not think that the referee was very good, especially with the incidents that led to Meshach Cole being booked.

No the officials were not good. Meshach Cole went down injured, when the trainer came on he had got to his feet and had no treatment but the referee told him to go of the pitch to come back on again, the referee appeared to wave him back on, but when Masach came on he was then booked for coming on too soon.

From where I was standing on Saturday it looked that the penalty awarded against Jack Rashid was debatable. Jack appeared to dive full length and got both hands on the ball, the Stamford player then went down.

Jack said that he did not touch the player but the referee, on the halfway line, awarded a penalty. It is one of those things that happen in football, had it been awarded to us we would have accepted it.

What were your thoughts of the Hemel game?

We were brilliant in the first half, created a number of chances but were only one goal up at half time. Due to not having more advantage the second half was much tougher and the game could have gone either way.

Dean Cracknell seems to be getting better with every game. Do you think that applies to any other players?

Our front two and Dean all work very hard.

Are there any injury worries ahead of Saturdays game?

Stuart Smeathers and Dean Cracknell are having treatment tonight, at present I am not aware of any other injury problems.

Finally, do you have any additions to the squad lined up?

Yes, it is possible a new player may be signed in the next week or so, but I am not prepared to say any more at present.
