Biography
Club Manager of one season, Jon Franklin was appointed as successor to Neil Trebble in June 2006 having previously spent a successful five years in charge of town neighbours Aylesbury Vale.
He lead Aylesbury Vale (formerly Haywood United), a team only in existence since 2000, to two promotions in the South Midlands League, and came close to guiding the side into the Southern League in his final season with the Moles.
Overcame financial constraints and the hindrance posed by a lack of permanent home to guide United to 6th place in the league, winning 2 Manager of the Month awards in the process and coming excrutiatingly close to securing a playoff place.
Brought an end to his solitary campaign at the helm by resigning in June 2007, and was replaced by his assistant Tony Thompson.
Jon also previously had a short playing spell with the Ducks back in 1994/95 as a goalkeeper, under Steve Ketteridge.
