Missing Justin Skinner, Kevin Davies and Michael Danzey (substitute due to cut eye) to name just three, Aylesbury would have been happy with a point beforehand. But they twice squandered two goal leads and in the end were disappointed to end up with a point.

Matt Carmichael struck two superb volleys on 13 and 26 minutes and his side went close three more times before Dominic Feltham pulled one back on 33 minutes. Mick Swaysland increased the lead to 3-1 on the hour as the vocal visiting fans cheered every pass.

But on 72 minutes Steve Payne slotted past Gary Phillips and just three minutes later Murray Jones volleyed home to make it 3-3.

In the dying minutes Phillips denied Feltham, whilst at the other end Stacy Joseph passed to Swaysland who shot inches wide from 20 yards.
