A large contingent of United fans made the short trip to Adams Park and were not disappointed as United knocked out Wanderers to reach the Final for the second year in a row.

Early on Mick Swaysland forced Brian Parkin into making a good save, then shot inches wide a minuter later. Matt Carmichael also went close from long range.

Wycombe winger Anthony Clark was the pick of the home side but found Gary Phillips in good form. Six minutes into the second half Kieran Gallagher kicked off the line, and Carmichael headed just wide.

On 69 minutes Swaysland turned and shot on goal, but keeper John Cheesewright (second half sub for Parkin) did well to tip round the post.

On 81 minutes the Division Two boys got punished. Carmichael crossed from the right, Swaysland reached the ball before Crossley, and his header was just strong enough to beat Cheesewright.

Five minutes from time a low angled Clark shot was well saved by Phillips to preserve this memorable win and United went on to face Division One Reading in the Final.
