After bouncing back from their 6-0 league drubbing at Gravesend 18 days earlier with a draw and a win in their next 2 games, this really was a bad day at the office for Gary Phillips' side at Stompond Lane.

United started well and had the edge for the first half an hour, their best chance coming in the 30th minute when Kevin Davies sent Kieran Gallagher free down the right and his whipped cross found the on-running Davies whose volley smacked against the bar.

Within 60 seconds Walton were ahead when they raced down the other end and Andy Sayer latched on to Trevor Baron's knockdown to net from close range.

Just 3 minutes later it was 2-0 when Garfield Blackman crossed from the right edge of the box and Sayer got there first to drive past Ducks keeper Paul O'Reilly.

The goal rush continued and it was 3-0 in the 41st minute when Barry Rake dribbled around 2 Ducks defenders before laying the ball off for Ansil Bushay to squeeze his shot into the corner.

It got worse for the visitors in the second half when O'Reilly was stretchered off with a suspected broken cheekbone in the 55th minute (replaced by Mick Swaysland) with defender Matt Hayward taking over in goal. The Ducks' woes were compounded in the 68th minute when skipper Peter Scott was sent off for a second yellow card.
