Maximum points after two games and it was off to Enfield, another one of manager Bob Dowie's former clubs. Never easy territory and especially as the E's had thumped Dagenham & Redbridge 4-0 in midweek. After a few anxious moments early on, Jason Soloman put Aylesbury ahead after 12 minutes with a low shot from 20 yards, but by the interval the Ducks trailed for the first time of the season. Slackness at the back allowed Bentley (34) and Dunwell (39) to put the E's 2-1 up. In the second half, all bar the last minute were tedious and neither side created a worthwhile chance. But that was all forgotton on 89 minutes when Jermaine Darlington floated over a great cross to the far post and Browne headed in for an apparent point. But deep into stoppages Browne broke free to smash the ball past Pape, a dramatic winner to put United top of the league. |
