For this trip to Boreham Wood (where Bishop's Stortford were groundsharing) Warren Kelly and Richard Harvey came back from injury, and Steve Butler again replaced Ian Rutherford - injured in the draw at Hendon.

Like the previous Saturday the visitors opened the scoring on 8 minutes. Kieran Gallagher swung over a corner which hit the bar and bounced out. Butler reacted quickest and slid in from close range, his first Aylesbury goal.

The Bishops had yet to win a league match and the difference in class was evident throughout. Ex-Duck David Greene went close on 33 minutes with a deflected shot, but most of the play stayed in the other half of the field. But United were unable to make more of it, let down in part by strange offside decisions, and from sloppy passing when they got near the penalty area.

Early in the second half Richard Harvey shot from long range and keeper King just got a hand to the ball. On 60 minutes King again came to the rescue, parrying from Butler and Corey Browne's return was cleared off the line by Forbes.

A 1-0 win would be okay, but on the balance of play it should have been far greater. Sure enough, after 80 minutes a superb crossfield ball by Gallagher gave Butler the chance to slot home another goal. Two minutes later King blocked from Browne and Ian King followed up to score. The deserved win moved United to within one point of leaders Sutton.
