Buoyed by their midweek victory at fancied Bishop's Stortford, United travelled to Whyteleafe in good spirits. Unfortunately these were soon dampened when the team coach got stuck in traffic and the players over arrived just before the scheduled kick off time.

A below par performance saw the Ducks slip to defeat on a bobbly pitch that made football difficult. The home side obviously more used to the conditions rarely played the ball on the deck and it was from one such long punt that Paul Scott scored his side's winner.
