The rare luxury of a Saturday home league game saw United secure three valuable points in a comfortable performance against their visitors from the south coast.

In first half of near one way traffic, Ollie Stanbridge had three good chances and Darren Grieves hit the outside of the post before the Ducks' best opportunity of the period right on time. Captain Mason's stinging shot was well saved by the visiting keeper but the ball looked to have fallen nicely for Roni Joe. He did everything right, but was foiled by more goalkeeping heroics.

The breakthrough eventually came on 58 minutes, when a Phil Mason free kick was turned in at the far post by a Bognor defender.

Roni Joe should have put the result beyond doubt immediately, when left one on one with the keeper, but his attempted lob unfortunately wasn't high enough and was easily caught.

Aylesbury could, and probably should, have had more, but the second goal didn't arrive until injury time when Steve Callinan exquisitely chipped in from twenty-five yards.
