A spirited second half performance failed to reap the reward it deserved as Eddie Denton and Kevin Davies both missed easy chances late on. Former Oxford City striker Forinton opened the scoring on 7 minutes and Gill made it 2-0 on 20 minutes. Mick Swaysland completed a good build-up just before the break to pull back the deficit, but another well taken goal by Forinton after 50 minutes restored Yeovil's two goal cushion. Swaysland gave United hope on 77 minutes with his second goal after good work by Matt Hayward. In the closing stages United missed out on a point and the home fans in a 2000 plus crowd breathed a huge sigh of relief. |
