Dagenham & Redbridge proved too strong for United who their new yellow & black strip for the first time. Warren Kelly returned but Gary Crawshaw missed out with a leg injury, Neil Selby replacing him. Neither side looked threatening, but two goals in two minutes turned the game ? both through slack marking again, a Cobb flying header from Kimble's cross and a nearpost Jones header. Cobb made it 3-0 with another header before Stuart Beevor went clean through to pull a goal back and give United hope. But on 79 minutes the home side put the result beyond doubt courtesy of Des Gallagher. Jones on the break crossed, he raced out of his area and attempted to head clear, only for the ball to wickedly bounce over him and McDougald followed up to walk the loose ball into an empty net. Two away games in a row and our defending was very poor. |
