United slipped out of the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup, but not before they gave their illustrious visitors an early scare.

Surprisingly Wycombe featured a number of first teamers within their starting line up, and with Cliff Hercules resting several of his first choice players United's opening was even more impressive.

Scott Honeyball headed home a Stuart Maynard corner in the sixteenth minute, and as so often happened during the season a second followed within a few minutes, Chris Bangura picking out Dwain Clarke in space and the Ducks striker fired an unstoppable effort past the Chairboys keeper.

The Second Division team weren't to be outdone though, and got back into the match on twenty nine minutes. Stand in keeper David Lovell failed to clear and Paul Emblen looped a shot into the net.

Right on half time the Blues levelled. Good work from Gavin Holligan was rewarded when Darren Currie fired home. And just after the break the League side scored what turned out to be the winner. The Ducks defence failed to clear their lines and Ian Simpemba made no mistake.

There was still time for both Scott Honeyball and Ollie Stanbridge to have efforts ruled out for offside, but it just wasn't United's evening.
